Rye Brook Youth Soccer Club 2017 Pre-Travel Curriculum

This curriculum is designed for pre travel, 1st grade and kindergarten players of Rye Brook Youth Soccer Club. One of the main goals in creating it was to inspire the players at the youngest age to love the game. Their ability to seek enjoyment from playing is a crucial part of their learning and development. It will focus on developing understanding and ability to perform techniques such as dribbling, turning, and elements of passing/receiving and shooting. Each of these techniques will be learned and reinforced through activities with repetition throughout each season. The warm-ups will be designed to increase their motor skill development as well as technique and skill development. Players will be encouraged to challenge themselves with more difficult tasks during the session and on their own. It is important to ensure that the skills learned will support the next stage of their development. Implementing the pre travel curriculum will benefit player development and have a positive impact on their success as they progress to travel.
