Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen

The final stop on our amazing 10-day Scandinavian cruise was Copenhagen Denmark. Copenhagen has always been one of my favorite cities. When I was with Raytheon Marine Co., our European office was in Copenhagen and in the late 70's and throughout the 1980's I traveled there many, many times. I was amazed at how much the city has changed, especially the waterfront areas. Lots of expansion and growth, I hardly recognized the areas. There seems to be a construction boom now with lots of tower cranes on the skyline.

Our one sightseeing day was quite packed with a long walking tour in the morning with an excellent local guide and the afternoon on a canal boat tour.

The walking tour took us along the waterfront to the Royal Palace and we had to make the mandatory photo stop (along with several hundred other tourists) at the Little Mermaid. Our only regret was that we didn't choose to spend some extra days in Copenhagen on our own, but I guess after being away 2-weeks, it was time to go home.

Our last sunrise on Viking Sky as we approach Copenhagen Harbor

The Pilot Boat just dropped off the Harbor Pilot who will take us into the dock.
