The Red Raiders are off to one of their best starts with a 12-1 record overall and 1-1 Big 12 record. They are ranked in the NCAA Top 25 in field goal percentage (4th), rebounding margin (6th), assist-to-turnover ratio (14th), scoring defense (15th), and three-point field goal percentage (23rd).
Texas Tech erased a seven-point deficit against West Virginia to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Mountaineers. It was only the second win vs. West Virginia in program history.
Keenan Evans leads the Red Raiders with 13.4 points per game and has double-digit points in 11 of his last 14 games. He is also hitting 45 percent (10 of 22) from behind the arc in his last five games.
Devon Thomas can not only score (5.1 points per game) but is one of the best nationally at dishing out the ball and keeping it in Tech's hands. His 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio is 4th among all NCAA players (54 assists to only 12 turnovers).

Meanwhile, the lady raiders have flown out to a 10-4 overall record and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
Texas Tech women's basketball is undefeated (9-0) at home this season after beating Oklahoma State (70-65) and Iowa State (75-66) at home to start Big 12 Conference play.
The Lady Raiders outscored Iowa State 28-15 in the fourth quarter on Wednesday and hit a team-best 25 of 26 from the free throw line (96.2%).
Recee' Caldwell has emerged as one of the best players in the Big 12 Conference and nation. She is averaging 18.4 ppg (2nd-Big12), scoring 20 points or more in four straight games and seven overall this season.
