Activities Newsletter October 1-5, 2018

The Lady Swedes played in a triangular in Ogallala. Their first game was against Ogallala. They lost in 2 sets: 19-25 and 16-25. They came back with a win against Valentine in 3 sets: 22-25, 25-12, and 25-17.

The Lady Swedes hosted the last game on home court which was a triangular and Parents' Night. Elise Ackerman, Kendal Wahlgren, Ainsley Rickertsen, Amaya Ackerman, and lastly Lauren Johnson were seniors that were recognized before the game. They lost the first game against McCook in 2 sets: 23-25 and 16-25. Then they played against Lexington where they won after 3 sets: 25-18, 17-25, and 25-21.

Lady Swedes played District golf in Scottsbluff. Congrats to the girls' golf team on a great season!! Devyn Ostendorf just missed qualifying for state with a 14th place finish.

Final scores from District Golf in Scottsbluff: Devyn Ostendorf(101), Annica Harm(113), Kenzie Graham(109), Jessica Bartlett(116), and Sheena Villaluna(125).

Swedes fall in the first round against Chadron, 6-3. Kaitlyn Harrison hit a 2-run homerun to give the Swedes a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The Swedes lost to McCook 7-1. The team ends their season with an overall record of 14-17. Great job girls and coaches! Thank you to the two seniors, Rachel Darling and Kaitlyn Kleinknecht for their dedication and commitment to the Swede Softball program.

William Anderson leads the Swede boys today with a 5th place finish at SWC. Congrats, Will, on earning All-Conference honors!!

A successful day for the Lady Swedes XC team. Four out of 15 runners placed, and they finished 3rd as a team!! Congrats to Arissa Ackerman(15th), Shania Wear(14th), Hannah Anderson(10th), and Courtney Harpole(8th). All four ladies take home All-SWC honors.

Swede Middle School boys go 1-2-3-10 in medals at SWC today in Broken Bow! Congrats to Nathan Sager(1st) Parker Graves(2nd). Kurt Kuhlman(3rd) and Bryson Pfeifer(10th). Swede boys win the team title with 16 points. Way to go!

The boys headed to Valentine Friday and came home with a win. The final score was 23-0. Trenton Harbur scored from 66 yards out, and Marc Ackerman kicked a 33 yard field goal.

The Marching Band competed in the Harvest of Harmony Parade in Grand Island on October 6, 2018. They've worked hard this season and have made great progress. Their score was 6 points higher than last year's. Nice job, band members!

The Musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" will be performed this weekend in the Performing Arts Center. Make sure to attend one of the performance times; Students have worked hard to make this a success. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Times are Saturday at 7:00 PM, Sunday at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
