There are about six thousand five hundred different languages spoken around the world with at least one thousand speakers of each language.

For the average citizen of the United States the thought of learning another language is unnecessary, impractical, non-beneficial, too difficult, too time consuming, etc.

If a child starts learning English as soon as they can speak, shouldn’t learning another language happen as soon as possible also.
