Grandmother's Ring The Princess and the Goblin

“If ever you find yourself in any danger—such, for example, as you were in this same evening—you must take off your ring and put it under the pillow of your bed. Then you must lay your finger, the same that wore the ring, upon the thread, and follow the thread wherever it leads you.”

The Princess and the Goblin

Prep and size your wire.

  1. Wrap the wire around your finger leaving about an inch to either side.
  2. Cut with a pair of old scissors or wire snips. NOT your mom's favorite fabric scissors.

Add wire and secure one side.

  1. Bend the wire into a loose U shape and slide on the first set of beads.
  2. Using your jewelry pliers, twist one end around the ring. At this point slip the ring back onto your finger and size it again. You should be able to slip the end of the wire up and down to resize if necessary. (pictured below)
  3. Twist the end around a few more times and crimp tight.
  1. Bend the remaining wire up and over your first set of beads.
  2. Load it with as many as you need to reach the other side of the first set.
  3. Using your pliers, wrap the wire around until it's finished.
  4. Make sure you leave the very end pointed to the side or top so that it doesn't rub on your finger.

congratulations you've made your first ring! Below is another ring being made.

YOU did IT!!!

Who else can you make a ring for now? These are great friendship rings given the meaning behind them in The Princess and the Goblin. Give a friend a ring and tell them it will lead them back to you. :)
