Evolution of Animation Emily hiott

Gerti the Dinosaur was created in 1914 by Winsor McCay. This was one of the first attempts at animation that succeeded and drew an audience.

Walt Disney entered the scene in 1928 creating the first version of the family favorite, Mickey Mouse.
Pixar then hit the scene and combined with Disney to produce more animated favorites.

Toy Story was the first full length animated film completely computer generated. It was released in 1995 and Pixar's company skyrocketed.

Following the release of Toy Story, Pixar rapidly released 8 more films over the next 13 years. Not only did these films set the standard for animation, but they set the bar high for creative expectations.
