Helping Hands Bakery

Junior Mulu Bannister pipes frosting onto a sugar cookie. Sugar cookies are one of the many baked goods sold by Helping Hands.

Senior Genevieve Newsom edits pictures on her computer. Newsom is currently working on the business side of the Helping Hands program. Students rotate through different groups so they get to experience all different areas of the business.

Junior Shelby Dreher and senior Leona Leiker mix together ingredients to create a pumpkin filling. In addition to gaining baking experience, Helping Hands members also learn how to follow instructions and fill orders in an orderly and timely fashion.

Junior Jada Kaiser reaches into the mixing bowl with a small ice cream scoop to scoop the cookies onto the baking sheet. Kaiser used an ice cream scoop ensure all the M & M cookies were uniform size.

The bakery is open 8:15 to 10:35 a.m. on Maroon Day mornings. Some of their inventory include cookies, cinnamon rolls and popcorn balls.
