"Our Languages Matter"
2-9 July 2017
Throughout this last week of term, classes have been participating in NAIDOC activities to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Thursday was the official day for our school to recognise NAIDOC. Highlights of the day included the NAIDOC assembly, beautiful singing from our classrooms and visitors from Desert Feet, cooking damper, face dot painting and much much more.
We would like to thank our special guests for sharing their time and to everyone who participated in an amazing day!
NAIDOC Classroom Activities
NAIDOC Door Art
Each classroom created a door design based on the theme of NAIDOC week "Our Languages Matter". Our AIEO's Leonie Jones and Phyllis Lockyer had the very hard task of picking a winner from each block. The winners received a fantastic piece of Martu art which was purchased from the Martumili Arts Centre.
