YOUTH COMMITTEE

Staff has reached out to the applicants to schedule interviews. New members will be appointed in July and tentative planning workshops will begin in August.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

MONTHLY REPORT

The Community Development Department has released its monthly report. The report demonstrates that construction activity in the city continues to recover from the pandemic. The first five months of 2021 saw a 47% increase in building permits issued compared to the same period last year. The valuation of work done under these permits has also increased. It should be noted, however, that the trend in project types continues to move toward smaller projects such as accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and home additions. In May, the City’s planners took in four applications for accessory dwelling units, three for home additions, and two for conditional use permits. 71 community preservation cases were opened in April.
