Evergreen Weekly Updates
Worship at Evergreen
Guest Preaching Series
This fall, we are excited to welcome two incredibly gifted speakers to Evergreen! Rev. Dr. Mary Hulst and Pastor Rich Ferreira will each be teaching at Evergreen for several weeks in the next few months. Pastor Mary is the University Pastor at Calvin University and will teach out of the book of Philippians on six Sundays this fall. Rich is the General Manager of GTI Tours and will be teaching on the geography, life, and locations of Jesus on five Sundays. We look forward to the new insights and perspectives that Mary and Rich will provide. Come check them out!
Join us for church outdoors at Evergreen at 10AM!
Message: "Press On"• Pastor Mary Hulst • Philippians 3:12-16
Rev Mary Hulst will be back with us this Sunday to teach from Philippians 3. She'll be discussing the concept of pressing on, and how to keep going when the going gets tough. We're excited to have Rev Hulst back with us this Sunday.
If you are unable to join us, you can use this link to join us virtually through Zoom. We are using the same link each week: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86799658645
We are moving indoors in-person on November 1!
We are excited to announce that we will begin indoor, in-person gatherings on November 1 beginning with one service at 10am. For the next two Sundays, we will continue to meet outdoors. As we continue to gather information about the strategies and policies that are working in schools, these next few weeks will allow us time to prepare a safe, convenient, and impactful worship experience for you! If the weather doesn't cooperate on any of these Sundays, we encourage you to join us on Zoom.
Can't make church at 10AM?
Welcome to our guided worship collection. In these links, you will find songs, scripture, and a message from current weeks, and also weeks past. All of this content will be matched up with the worship that we will be doing together on Sunday mornings. We understand that gathering together at a certain time, whether that be in person or on Zoom, isn't always realistic for everyone, but we also believe in the importance of participating in worship regularly and consistently. We hope that this provides a space for you to worship God regularly and consistently in the times we can't be gathered together. If you would like to hear recordings of previous sermons, go to www.egm.org/egm-sermons.
Are you looking for ways to connect gospel stories with your kids at a time when normal childhood programming isn't available? Check out our family activity guide, which has simple and easy activities that make it easy to communicate the truths of the gospels to your kids!
Giving at Evergreen
Evergreen is working hard to continue to care well for our church and our community. Like many businesses, families, and organizations, the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus put churches in a difficult financial situation. If you would like to give financially in the weeks in which we are unable to gather, you can do so by clicking this button:
4 Corners Offering
This fall, we are partnering with Kids Coalition Against Hunger for our corners offering. Kids Coalition Against Hunger is an organization that looks to fight against child hunger both locally, nationally, and globally. After our pop can drive, we are now back to collecting money on Sunday mornings to help purchase supplies to pack meals.
Healing Loft Coat Drive
Last year we partnered with the Healing Loft located in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are excited to partner with them again this year by collecting gently used coats and jackets for all ages. As your fall clothes are taken out of storage, we would love for you to donate any winter wear that won't be used. There will be a box near the stage at our next two outdoor services to collect all the gear to then be delivered up north the week of Oct. 25.
Kids Ministries Now Available
We are excited to add some children's programming to our outdoor services! We will be dismissing children ages two to second grade after singing to join us in the backyard of Evergreen for a lesson, small discussion, and activity! You'll be able to pick your child up next to the Gaga Ball Pit after the service.
Infant Nursery Now Available
We’re thrilled to announce that infant nursery is back at Evergreen. We will be providing care for infants under 2 years old in the nursery indoors. Please register your infant by clicking the link below so we can properly prepare. If you’re interested in volunteering to serve in the nursery, contact Brittany Breuker at email@example.com.
With the evolution of the policy surrounding COVID-19, we are excited to be able to begin hosting student ministry gatherings indoors again! As the weather gets a little colder, we are excited to have a place to gather together, and are optimistic that the precautions we are taking will allow our student ministries to remain indoors indefinitely! Thanks to all our students and parents and leaders for helping us make this happen, we are so grateful to all of them for their flexibility!
Evergreen Small Groups
We all walk through life yearning to be known, valued, and loved. By spending time with people who are willing to get to know us deeply and purposefully, we allow those relationships to create radical growth and change in our faith. Evergreen has several small group opportunities to explore this fall! If you are interested in any of these in-person or online communities, click the link below.
Gobble Hobble 5K
The Gobble Hobble for this year is on! We would love for you to run with us! We are planning on hosting 100 runners for the Gobble Hobble at Evergreen, or you can run it virtually at any time during Thanksgiving weekend. Registration is available below.
We are excited to be offering Recovery services at Evergreen again! We are meeting outdoors at Evergreen every Sunday evening at 6:15pm. Bring your own chair, snack and beverage. Bridge to Life groups and 12-Step meetings are back to meeting onsite at Evergreen as well. Click the buttons below if you need to be connected to a group. You can contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
