The request for official review of the May 2017 Safety Management System (SMS) Manual revisions will be sent March 9, 2017.
The proposed changes include:
Clarifying when and how a high-risk hazard is deemed official;
Clarifying Table 3.3: Hazard Severity Definitions with regard to ground collisions;
Adding a footnote to Table 3.4: NAS Equipment Worst Credible Severity Table;
Revising Section 220.127.116.11 to reference the full list of required content for safety findings without hazards; and
Addressing the redundancy in signatures with regard to the requirement to have a point of contact signature for safety requirements on all Safety Risk Management (SRM) documents, including those for acquisitions systems.
Feedback from our CADRE instructors and course participants has been incorporated.
PowerPoint slides were edited.
Video aids and supplemental material were created.
A method to disseminate Best Practices among CADRE instructors is being developed.
A limited amount of student guides for course participants will be printed.
The student guides must be reused for each course.
Students can utilize their workbooks for taking notes
Title has been changed to Configuration Management for the Air Traffic Organization Safety Management System Policy.
To minimize confusion, the change cycle has been changed to “at least once per Fiscal Year (FY).”
References to, our “new approach”, or the Manual and the SRMGSA “are now online”, has been removed.
