Catskill Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Schiller

Believe it or not, winter has finally shaken its grip from our region and the warm, sunny days are starting to roll around. As we gear up for summer, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the first 6 months of 2018. We have several accomplishments to be proud of, where we’ve clearly demonstrated that we live our Mission and support our community.

  • CRMC has been recognized by Cornell Cooperative Extension as a Worksite Wellness Champion
  • Our Center for Wound Healing was surveyed and has been re-accredited
  • Our CT in Callicoon has been accredited by the American College of Radiologists – this is the first accreditation
  • We have entered into an agreement with Catholic Charities to support opiate treatment programs in Livingston Manor and Callicoon
  • We completed our RELATE refresher and trained the Medical Staff as well
  • Our Heart-a-thon received excellent community support and was a great success
  • We purchased our first-ever non-ferrous IV pumps to care for more critical patients with our MRI
  • We celebrated the new CT in Harris with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
  • We successfully completed our first DNV survey and are fully accredited
  • We invested in new equipment and restarted our Pulmonary Function Testing service
  • Our RISE Walk A Mile was a success in raising more than $8,ooo for the program
  • For the fourth time in five years, Callicoon was recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in the country
  • Sullivan Pharmacy has been awarded the contract to operate the new Outpatient Pharmacy on the Harris Campus
  • The architectural planning is complete for the ED expansion in Callicoon
  • The new Video EEG service in the Harris Campus ICU has been successfully implemented
  • The new back-up generator is now online at our Harris Campus

I am also proud to say that next week marks my one year anniversary as our CEO, thank you for your support and confidence over the past year. Our future is bright; I look forward to continuing to grow our services as we meet the growing needs of our community.

GLOBAL wellness day

On June 8, employees participated in Global Wellness Day which promotes living a healthier and better life. The event took place in the Woodland Wildlings Café with wellness vendors and raffle prizes.


Catskill Regional Medical Center was a proud sponsor of the Can’t Hurt Steel Community Foundation 5K Walk/Run on June 9. Kudos to employees Sue Vorstadt and Marion Harrison for finishing the 5K and representing CRMC along the way.


The Sullivan County National Alliance for Mental illness, in partnership with CRMC, proudly displayed ribbons in support of mental health awareness by the main entrance, outpatient entrance and the mental health unit at the Harris Campus.


The Annual ‘Celebration of Life’ Oncology Social was held on June 11 in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day. The free event was open to anyone diagnosed with cancer, is in treatment for cancer or has completed cancer therapy. Friends, family members and caregivers were also welcome.



The Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Foundation has announced the 40th Annual Golf Classic. The annual event invites area golfers and sponsors to support the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional healthcare to the community. This year’s outing will take place on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic will be used to renovate the Emergency Room at CRMC’s Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon.

The Classic will take place at the award-winning Villa Roma Resort golf course in Callicoon, New York. Registration will open at 10:00 a.m. and a light brunch will be served at 10:30 a.m. Tee time is scheduled for noon. A cocktail hour with open bar and appetizers begins at 5:00 p.m. The grand buffet dinner and awards ceremony begin at 6:00 p.m.

Registration is $175 per golfer and includes greens fee, golf cart, brunch and dinner, a golfer gift, chances to win raffle prizes and a chance to win a special prize for the “first hole-in-one” on a designated hole. Those who wish to attend the grand buffet dinner only, can do so for $75.


Join us to clear your mind! Instructed by Kadampa Meditation Center, this Meditation and Mindfulness Workshop includes guided meditation, practical-teaching on how to apply meditation and mindfulness to improve the quality of our busy modern lives, group discussion and Q&A. Free to attend and open to all staff.
