Christmas Traditions By Lauren Brinker

Decorating the tree

The day before Thanksgiving we decorated the Christmas tree. 🎄 It was fun! 😀

Christmas lights

Every year we look at Christmas lights. My favorite are the rainbow colored lights.

We visited Teddy Bear Christmas Land. I liked the teddy bears and reindeer.

Advent wreath

Every week of Advent we light a candle to remind us that Jesus will be born on Christmas. There are four candles representing the four weeks of Advent.

St. Nick's Day

We celebrate the feast of St. Nicholas on Dec. 6. We put our shoes out, and he brings us a small gift.

Christmas carols

My American Heritage Girls troop sang songs to old people at a nursing home.

We sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and Jingle Bells.

Christmas cookies

We made cookies with Grandma. We made chocolate chip, sugar cookies and oatmeal raisin.

I also decorated a Shopkins gingerbread house with my brother Evan.

Breakfast with Santa

We went to Breakfast with Santa at school. We ate pancakes, saw Santa and went to the book fair. We also heard our teachers read Christmas books. It was fun!
