Jordan Deja (jrdndj) is a university professor and researcher based in the Philippines. He specializes in HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) and Machine Learning (ML). He incorporates the Design Thinking approach that helps his students and his audience design solutions for specific user needs.
Design Thinking along with HCI create the perfect opportunity for innovation. HCI is user-centric while Design Thinking is problem-driven. Both focus on the emerging discipline of understanding user needs in order to create better and more effective products that improve the quality of lives of typical users.
Jordan hails from De La Salle University with BS and MS degrees in Computer Science. This was where he met Prof. Shen Zhao of NUS and Mr. TJ Monserrat of UPLB. This dates back their first days together working with Design Thinking. Jordan is currently preparing for his PhD studies.
Jordan is founding member of SIGCHI PH, an ACM SIGCHI which aims to advocate & foster Design Thinking and HCI research in the universities, colleges and schools in the Philippines. He is also a lead researcher of the Seamless Interfaces group of DLSU's Center for Complexity and Emerging Technologies (COMET).
