Knightly Knews 6/2/17 Friday, June 2, 2017

Where does the time go? We are down to two weeks remaining this school year. Activities will be wrapping up next week with our culminating band and orchestra concerts, as well as the 6th Grade IM Track Meet. Students will be taking assessments in some classes next week as well. Looking forward to finishing strong!

Knights in the News

Mr. Kolk and the Advanced Orchestra performed Thursday evening at the Concert for the Future at Troy High with Boulan Park's 8th graders and the Freshman Orchestra. At the end of the concert, there were more than 180 orchestra students on the stage playing together--the future is bright, indeed!

Troy High Football Meeting

Tuesday, June 6th Troy High Football is having a preseason informational meeting for all future football players. The meeting will be held in the Troy High School cafeteria from 3:30-5:00PM. There will be a one way bus provided from all the middle schools to Troy High; parents should plan on picking up your child at 5:00. We will go over our summer calendar, LIFT-A-THON, spirit wear, and finally practice schedule. Please plan on attending this very important meeting. Any questions email Coach Frasier at cfrasier@troy.k12.mi.us.

Great American Eclipse

Want to learn how to see the Great American Eclipse this summer? The USA will be able to see a very rare solar eclipse on August 21. We will be able to see a partial eclipse from the Troy area, but a full eclipse can be seen a day's drive away.

Come learn the ins and outs of eclipses: what it is, how to safely view it, and where to view it. We will discuss Citizen Science opportunities and resources available about this unusual opportunity to experience nighttime during the middle of the day! Students and parents are welcome!

Tuesday, June 6 from 3:30pm to 4:30 pm in Larson Middle School media center for information, then outside for solar viewing! Presented by science teachers Ms. Terri McCormick and Mr. Michael Egan. #sciencerocks
