DIRECTION 2: THE GREEN HEART
The Netherlands is a beautyful country to visit by bike. Cycle through 'The Green Heart'. You'll come along plain fields, peat rivers, embankments and country houses. It's how it used to be.
This Festive500 day the world turns into a white picture. Too cold to hop of my bike regularly. My frozen fingers can barely handle the buttons of my Nikon.
DIRECTION 3: AMSTERDAM
Despite of the weather we thank God and Rapha for the #Festive500 challenge. Else I'm sure we should have been on the sofa watching television, drinking liquour and eating christmas leftovers. Now we're up to a huge victory: cycling 90 km in cold and foggy weather…
"The ultimate reward is the hot shower afterwards"
DIRECTION 4: HILLS
"THE SUN CAME THROUGH AND PARADISE EXISTED"
Cycling on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht hills) means cycling through the forest. It is freaky cold but we stop for a second in paradise. The sun is there for hardly 1 hour, ice on the trees start to melt and the roads turn into a mess. Temperature drops and we sort of skate home...
"Part of the Festive500 challenge is the Weather"
"Think warm: It's less Cold"
UTRECHT MY CITY
To gain extra kilometers I use Strava during Festive500 to also count my 'Leisure trips' to the Utrecht City Center. Visiting Miffy, the Dom Tower and having a beer gives me an extra 15 kilometers and a very good mood ;-)
