Yesu Ashimwe pRaise the lord

"Hallelujah" "Amen" "Praise the Lord" universal words of praise for our almighty God. These words can be heard throughout the service as we joined a village church in Huye (aka Butare) for Sunday service

It brings joy in ones heart seeing and experiencing how worship is expressed across different parts of the world

The whole congregation joins in the singspiration and announcement from pastor. Portable wooden stools are used for sitting. As the servise starts, usher/greeter (lady in yellow to the right) guides people to available space
Mats are set on the floor for children to sit on
Singspiration is lead by the youth choir with the whole congregation joining in
Sound system and musical instrument are basic and sufficient for its intended purpose
Children were released from the main service and led by youth leaders to their classroom. In this case, "classroom" is used loosely to descibe a building structure with four walls, roof and an unfinished floor
Floor mats and a stool were brought in for the children and youth leaders to sit on.
Children church starts with more praises; a lesson on John 3:16; memory verse; and offering
Smiles filled the room as the children were fed with God's word
Youth teachers and my interpreter Esther (in the middle)

The three young ladies requested to chat with me after service inquiring on how children service are done in America and how they can improve. This brings tears to my eyes. Encouraged by such question from young people and at the same time heart broken by what we are missing in America (the pure desire for the Word)

We were blessed and honored by the invitation to join the pastor and his family for lunch

Path from city to the village church

Joined by a parade of kids as we walk along the main road of the village
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and lean from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29
