Members in Action AWM SoCal Around Town

It's always fun to reflect on the activities and events that Alliance for Women in Media members engage in to support women in the industry.

In October, members attended the 2018 CineFashion Film Awards Show, produced by Bonnie Gallanter (AWM Advisory Board Member) and Julie Nakahara Kertes (AWM Socal Co-president) and the Art4Peace Awards Gala in Beverly Hills.

2018 Art4Peace Awards celebrated art as a means to inspire a culture of peace. Awards were given in eight categories for master works that best represent a message of peace through: Dance, Music, Sculpture, Painting, Film, Beauty, Martial Arts and Young Talents.

Plus AWM SoCal sponsored two great panels in October at Digital Hollywood.

"Women in the Industry: Developing Film, Television & OTT About Women - A Golden Age in Hollywood and Indie Production"

Denise Muyco, co-founder and CEO, StratusCore, Moderator; Wendy Sweetmore, Founder/CEO, networkBe (former Senior Exec. MGM/Mark Burnett Productions); Raelle Tucker, Producer/Writer, True Blood; Jessica Jones, Sacred Lies; Linda Benjamin, COO & Head of Business Affairs, Covert Media; Jeanette B. Milio, President, Alliance Cinema; Evelyne Quellet, Chief Marketing Consultant, SAFIRA Entertainment Marketing

And the second panel

"Becoming a Master Negotiator: An Insider View from Power Players"

K.J. Matthews, Award-Winning Entertainment Journalist, Moderator; Joel Eisenberg, Partner, Council Tree Productions; Julia Verdin, Veteran Filmmaker, Founder of Artists For Change; Dr. Raye Mitchell, CEO and Founder of The Winning Edge Institute, Inc; Sandy Abrams, TheCEOm.com

Many thanks to all of the speakers and attendees.
