The Texas Xtreme '03 White is battling for a Bye spot for next season. Plagued with Sickness and other commitments along with unlucky results the team finds themselves in a must win situation for the next 3 games. Spring Break vacations and league play on both of the spring break weekends will make it a tough task to finish the season strong. We know they can do it as this team has proven to be mentally strong and very tough to play against.
The Texas Xtreme '03 Blue have improved both Technically and Tactically during the year , but still are trying to learn how to finish the games as a team. This is a wonderful group of young men and they are still figuring out how to play together consistently each weekend. Keep working hard and the results will start to show on the field.
Studies have shown that athletes under age 14 really only need a dynamic warmup and light stretching to prepare for a match or training session. As these young athletes begin to mature , grow and hit puberty a more intense warmup should be introduced. In soccer training, a warmup should include the ball if possible or an intense SAQ warmup.
Warmups for a match should include more stretching than a training session and provide full mobility of all muscles.
It's a great habit for athletes to understand that stretching 20 mins before bed time will help with mobility, sleep and relaxation of muscle fibers and tendons. It would be a great practice to stretch before bedtime and when you wake up in the morning.
