Fishing Monocacy Creek Locations, bugs and stuff

Park where?
Bugs

There are not that many hatches on the Monocacy, much like the Little Lehigh or Saucon. The major hatches are:

"Olives"

Sulphers

Comparaduns, parachutes, emergers. Try adding some orange. Both species can be hatching at the same time, which can make fly selection difficult.

Small, black (& white). Al's trico. Griffiths gnat. Ants.

Caddis. Green, tan. Try swinging wet flys for something different than the standard dry fly approach. EHC has been good.

Little sh!*

Als rat

Griffiths Gnat

Yup. Looks like an Al's rat.
