Promise of Good Results God's Promises

Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (NIV)

Pain and hardship can be quite common in our lives. Why? We often get confused when bad things happen to good people. When the bad things are happening to us, we sometimes sink into despair.

In the hard times, we can question the goodness of God. Perhaps, we feel like God has left us.

We don't always have clarity on why we are going through a hard time. But, we do know what God says...

  1. Brokenness in our world is a result of human sin (Genesis 3:14-19). Death in all its manifestations is the product of the human choice to rebel against God. We all experience the impact of sin in this world. We can't avoid it.
  2. God says that our "light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." (2 Cor. 4:17 NIV) So, glory is being produced for us, even through the most trying circumstances.
  3. God has promised that he will work out everything for the good for us - for those of us who love him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

God promises a good result. We don't always know what that will look like. But, we can trust him. His good result will be far better than our "making the best out of a bad situation." His good result will be a God result. In his way, in his time, he will work even the worst situation for our good.

Will you trust God at his word today?
