The Battle of Lexington April 19th, 1775

Began the American Revolution and the "shot heard round the world"

Occurred in Massachusetts Bay

General Thomas Gage sent Redcoats to imprison leaders of the rebellion
Paul Revere rode, on horseback, warning "The British are coming!"
Both Americans and British were wounded and killed in the battle.
American military was outnumbered and retreated from the British
Ignited the Battle of Concord
