Knightly News 11/9/2018 Edition

Good Afternoon Smith Knight Families! This week started with the return of our 8th graders from our Washington DC trip. The trip was a 3 day whirlwind of tours and sightseeing at our Nation's Capital. We returned tired, but with memories that will last a lifetime. I was honored to chaperone the trip with 7 other dedicated teachers. Thank you to Mrs. Trice, Mrs. Casko, Mr. Rexer, Mr. Nayak, Mrs. Sebastian, Mr. Reimann, and Mrs. D'Orazio (pictured below at the MLK jr. Memorial.

National French Week

National French Week was November 1st through 7th. To kick off the week, French songs were played during passing time. To conclude the week, Mademoiselle Hamel’s French 1 class had a celebration with lots of bonbons!!

Mr. Losey’s science class-microscopic organisms in our creek. Student Threw on the waders and headed into our creek in the back of the school behind the football field to gather samples to look at under the microscope.

Come join the Award winning AKA Winter Guard.

This outstanding group is comprised of six, seventh, and eighth grade girls and boys from the middle schools in the Troy School District and rehearses at Larson middle school.

There will be two introductory rehearsals and clinics – where you couldn't give this activity a try. The next two clinics will be held on Friday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 13.

Both clinics take place from 6pm to 8:30pm in the Larson Middle School gym.

Winter Guard is an activity that combines DANCE with the use of flags and other props in a routine which is set to recorded music. AKA Winter Guard is open to ALL Troy School District Middle School students who will one day attend Athens High Schol. No previous experience is necessary. Please wear athletic clothing and shoes for these events.
