Worth the Wait... Nursery term 3b week1

WE HAVE FROGS! It has created quite a buzz, the baby frogs have caused lots of curiosity. Can you spot one in the picture?

Did you know that tadpoles are herbivores, but when they make the change into frogs they become carnivores? This means that we now feed our frogs tiny bits of mince or ham.

There are still tadpoles in the tank that are being fed spinach. Can you see the frog and the tadpole side by side?
The Rescue Rangers returned to their park in their imaginations to discuss how it's looking. We then examined some images to give us ideas about what animals we might like to move into our park next. We wrote a list.

In other news, we have been spending a bit of time considering 'long ago' and 'now', looking at some old technology to help us see how changes have happened to people's lives over the years.

We found it very funny looking at old games consoles, some children couldn't believe that you had to load a game into them.
We enjoyed having a go on a typewriter. We can see why we are lucky to have the technology we do nowadays. I am especially happy, given that it is nearly report time!

It has been the most beautiful week outside. We have taken every opportunity to learn outdoors.

Painting with our feet.
Number jump game.
Playing hide and seek with friends.
Cooking up a storm.
Digging in the mud
Cooking with the mud.
Throwing and catching a beanbag.
Aiming a beanbag into a target.

Indoors we have seen some excellent play and learning too.

Enjoying painting.
A beautiful blue creation.
Logan and his rainbow.
In maths we have been examining the 'twoness of two' and exploring what two looks and feels like.
Look at our fab collection of '2' we made!
Talking about why each object chosen by the children represents two.
Making 'silly soup' with sounds and words for our literacy activity. We can hear 'p-i-g' and blend it to say 'pig', then add it to the soup!

As you can see, we spend lots of time outside so please remember to apply suncream to your child in the morning. A sun hat would be fabulous too if your child has one. Thank you!
