the legend of Kupe

Aotearoa was settled by Kupe. Kupe was used the stars and ocean currents as his navigational guides. He started from his home island at Hawaiki and travelled south to the land of Aotearoa.

What tradition did the Maori people?(haka)

The haka is a traditional war dance done before a war starts to show that if they mass with them they will die. But that was almost a two hundred years ago but now it is done a festivals and at the start of a rugby match.

Waitangi Treaty

The Waitangi treaty was a treaty signed by the Maori people and the Europeans. the Waitangi treaty meant that the land that the Maori owned is for them to keep.

What dose AOTEAROA mean?

Aotearoa is the Maori name for the country of New Zealand. The translation of Aotearoa is "land of the long white cloud".

Was cannibalism a common thing in the past?

Cannibalism was done before the start of the it meant that if we win we will eat you. but in modern times it is not done any more.

What was the common greeting between Maori people?

The maori people rubbed each others noses. It is common greeting thing to do like how we hug or shake hands.
