COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course investigates the dynamic influence that students can have on the outcome of a basketball game. The goal for students is to understand how they can make an impact, have fun, and get rowdy. We will critically analyze the latest developments in home court advantage from the standpoint of the best student section in the country.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Students will gain knowledge of why the Rowdy Reptiles are the best student section and how they make The O’Dome the toughest place to play in all of college basketball. We will learn and discuss the following topics taught by our very special guest speakers:

• The philosophy of #YositiveYibesYnly – Kasey Hill

• An in-depth look at the ever-changing length of basketball shorts – Devin Robinson

• How to be silent but deadly – Kevaughn Allen

• The definitive ranking of the best cheeses – Chris Chiozza

• Why Spiderman is the best superhero – Kevarrius Hayes

• How to block people, on the court and on social media – John Egbunu

• Stories about Ponce de Leon told by his great grandson – Justin Leon

• Why grandmas are universally loved – Canyon Barry

• How to be so smooth, always – Keith Stone

• The power of dance – Eric Hester

• What’s in a name – Gorjak Gak

• How to put the fun in fundamentals - Schuyler Rimmer

CLASSROOM POLICIES

• Please arrive on time and avoid leaving early

• Students must stand throughout the entire class period

• It’s right over left, no excuses

• You must look at the moose

• Rowdiness is encouraged

ATTENDANCE

• Attendance is mandatory. It actually is for your own good, we’re not just saying that. Please enter the classroom through Gate 3 of the O'Connell Center. The classroom will open two hours before class begins but it is advised that you come earlier if you want a seat in the front.

GRADING

• Perfect attendance and above-average rowdiness: A

• Poor attendance, sitting, or silence: F
