The mouse is an important tool for communicating with computers. is known as a pointing device, it lets you point to objects on the screen, click on them, and move them.
there are two main mouse types: mechanical, on the left, and optical, on the right.
this is an optical mouse: it uses an electronic eye to detect movement and is easier to clean.
this is a mechanical mouse: it uses a rolling ball to detect movement and requires regular cleaning to work well.

there are also some mouse alternatives: trackball and touchpad.

a trackball is a pointing device consisting of a ball held by a socket containing sensors to detect a rotation of the ball.
a touchball is a pointing device with a tactile sensor that can translate the motion and position of a user's finger.
