awakening to new covenant life and your union with God

There are some bright spots in church life. But much of it is salvation by institutionalism. Institutionalism is not a stairway to heaven whether it is charismatic of evangelical. Jesus is that stairway to heaven. In Him we are already there and Heaven is already in us. You are not religious consumers and were not created to live in dependency on a pseudo-priestly class. You are priests and kings in your own right and if Christ is your life, you are an apostolic people. You don't have an empty cup or a barren plate. God is already in you. Just agree that He is and change from a dry creek to a river of living water gushing out spirit and life.

Christ is already in you. The fact of the new covenant age is that the entire trinity lives in you. Just believe it and be who you are in this fellowship of affirmation and love.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14.20 NIV.

If you know this and realise that you are a priest/king who reigns in Christ where you are you will not need human mediators to lead you through hoops to what you already possess and who you already are. To be specific you need not be corralled by others into prayer. Christ as your life will break the fear of man. You will naturally be engaged in lifestyle discipleship if you are living from the new covenant. Why? Because being one with God and living in the togetherness of the trinity, you will have a natural and non-religious affinity with all human beings. Don't attach your star to those who cannot see this clearly. You have one Mediator who is not only with you. God has woven you into His being.

Woven into His being. The oneness of the trinity is the origin of oneness in relationships like marriage and family. Rooted in this Family in heaven we can expect rich relationships on earth.

Since the cross we have been made one with Jesus. Since Pentecost this oneness has descended in the Spirit to live in us. Today our situation is not here we are and there God is. We are one. Through His Son, Father has achieved our union with Himself. The dichotomies, separations and dualisms Adam introduced are no more and we are one with God. This is not decorative speech or Christian piety. It is the reality of the new covenant in which Jesus is our life. Here's the truth. In the old covenant we are separated from God. In the new covenant we and Father are one. Jesus is not only the way to life. He is our life. Thus Paul writes this amazing statement,

'But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him' 1 Cor 6.17 NIV.

God is joyful communion as the trinity. To be in god is to be in this togetherness and own it.

Because we are one Spirit with the Lord, that which is the Lord is also that which is us. Thus Christ the righteousness from God is the righteousness that is us in the Spirit. So Ron McGatlin is able to write, 'We do not go to the church nor join the church. We are added to the church and we are the church. The church is the "ecclesia."' Why is this? We are sons and we are the Bride. Our union and fellowship with God is complete and amazing. The real gospel as opposed to the oft assumed 'other gospel' is not that we can receive Jesus into our lives. It is that we have been received into His.

Growth into increased love and harmony comes from our interwoveness in God.

Because we are one and together as persons we can expect to grow into oneness with each other. This is not a theoretical unity couched in platitude. It occurs because we have been re-joined to God, made whole in our selves and given the ability to love ourselves and each other. The real Body of Christ never appears because we as Believers try to live up to some ideal, some description of the church or because we are assembled in house churches doing community. The community of God occurs among those who are living in the communion they already possess; it happens among those for whom Jesus is life; among those in which Father, Son and Holy Spirit have made their home. The Spirit of community manifests in all who commune with Christ. But here's the thing. Jesus is not somewhere else. He is in you!

Law based religion produces fragmentation and tension. Jesus as us - the trinity in us brings comfort and creativity

The knowledge of good and evil produces compartmentalization, hierarchies and offices. We call this institutionalization. This realm is innately dichotomized and inherently divided by rank and position because this is the nature of the letter. The letter that kills. The letter is of course the manifestation of the knowledge of good and evil coagulated as structures and religion. How many Believers in the new testament age have been suffocated by the law? How many of God's people have become consumers of institutionalism? How many fellowships in recent times have been killed by formulae? Don't ask. Christ is our life and it is Christ as us individually and as the church that is the victory of the Kingdom of God. Never look for the advance of the new creation in some new formulation of the church. Regeneration is found in the living out of Christ as our life.

Be who you are in God. With Christ as your life, you increasingly live to your design.

Our union with God does not produce a dumbing down of Believers into a mindless homogeneity. Godliness does not produce dependency or consumer religion. In Christ we become who we truly are. In Christ we are recognized as who we are and what we will flourish in as we minister. In Christ we lead in our sphere - not in someone else's. Thus Ron McGatlin writes, 'There are no people to stand as head over the ecclesia or to represent the head to the mature believers. The head is Christ Jesus flowing through the Holy Spirit and living in all his people.' The fact is, that when we live in God we live as the unique daughters and sons we are because we are alive in the Father.

'And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself' Eph 4.10 NLT.
