The Lycian Way The Trails of Ancient Lycia

The Lycian Way in Turkey, now considered as one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, was researched, designed and signposted by Kate Clow, a British historian, in 1999.

You will walk on coastal mountain trails along Roman aqueducts...

...past the rock tombs of Myra...

...ancient ruins...

...and enjoy the amazing seascapes of Lycia.

Kate Clow lived in the UK until 1989. In the early nineties, she moved to Antalya and started exploring the paths linking the centres of the ancient civilisations of Turkey. She connected a network of old trails to create Turkey’s first long-distance hiking trail, the Lycian Way.
Kate helped form the Culture Routes Society in Turkey, she continues to promote responsible tourism and is still hiking the old trails of the region.
