Week 2 Renaissance Faire 2017

Research, research, research!

This week was mostly dedicated to researching and learning more about the Renaissance, and the specific topics for each groups.

Groups continued to research, looking at both digital and print sources. Towards the end of the week, their research was becoming more refined and focused on their individual blog topics.

Setting up the blogs

In lieu of a formal paper, students are creating blogs for their Renaissance Faire topic and experience. They have the option of creating a blog through Adobe Spark Page or Weebly. (This is made through Adobe Spark Page.)

The first entry was due this week, and is just a progress report. This allows students to go back and reflect upon what they've accomplished this week, while also forcing them to talk and share heir research with one another.

Daily Goals

Working on long-term projects can be tough, because there are many different elements and stages to it. I've tried to break up the assignment to make the process easier for the students.

I've created a timeline and calendar with the major due dates, but I've also made a "Today's Goal" section on my board. Below, you can see the goals and focus for the past week.

Monday

Tuesday and Wednesday

(Each class only met once during this span because of MCAS)

Due dates for the week

Next week - beginning to write the informational blogs and develop the creative pieces!
