Sowing Purposefully

It is time for us to take hold of Harvesting the Purpose of our lives! In my young walk with God, I can remember when purpose and destiny were words that were motivational but also seemed fanciful or idealistic and even mystical. As a young minister, I was boldly proclaiming the truth and doing my best to both charge the hill, as well as lead the heavenly troops up the hill, it was often necessary to fight off discouragement along the way.

Somehow, the idea of purpose was noble, yet undefined, and the day-to-day needs of the people were so pressing. Most of life and even ministry was the back-and-forth of attempting to help people with daily needs, while at the same time trying to get them to lift their heads to see their future in a larger way. There is a heavenly courage that comes from viewing the infinite parameters of what can be accomplished in the life of a person who truly embraces that, “Nothing is Impossible to Them that Believe!”

Two mornings ago, I was awakened by the Holy Spirit, and God began to talk to me about you, us, and our future. Glory to God, partner-get ready to Harvest Heaven on Purpose. Look at what He said to me concerning our covenant:

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field. Matthew 13:31

Like you, as a believer, I have read these parables repeatedly. I have ministered from and acted on the law of seedtime and harvest many times. But this time, by supernatural instruction, He caused me to see something much greater. In the past, as I read these verses, the focus seemed to be on the mustard seed, the growth of it, and the importance of the seeds we sow in our lives. While none of those truths are in any way minimized, He wanted to talk to me two mornings ago about dominion and harvesting our future on purpose.

Did you know that if we are to have a manifestation of kingdom destiny in our lives, must be harvested? Destiny doesn’t just happen because God wills it. None of the will of God comes to pass in your life either by coincidence or plain sovereignty. It has to do with man operating in the laws that God gave him to Harvest His Purpose. Child of God, if you will receive what I say, you are on your way and nothing can stop you. Look at this again:

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field.

Do you see what is emphasized in bold? Say these words out loud, “Which a MAN TOOK.” Jesus, the Son of the living God, said a man can “Take Heaven” and a man can “Take the Kingdom.” Instead of only understanding the law of seedtime and harvest as an allegorical parallel of the way spiritual things operate, understand that Jesus said, “A MAN CAN TAKE HOLD OF ALL THE RESOURCES OF HEAVEN AND ALL THE RESOURCES OF THE KINGDOM,” and sow them into the earth on purpose. Any MAN can do that; it is inside the dominion he was created to operate within. Jesus is not just saying that the Kingdom operates like a seed, but that all of the Kingdom and all of Heaven comes in seed form.

It is important to understand that with as much right, authority, and ability as a man can take hold of a natural seed and sow it on purpose, that same man can take hold of Heaven and the resources of the kingdom and sow them into his field on purpose. Do you see it?

Man can TAKE HOLD of HEAVEN! Man can TAKE HOLD of the KINGDOM!

Man can take Heaven and the Heavenly Kingdom and sow it (Heaven and anything in the Kingdom) in his field. In fact, if a man doesn’t take hold of it, then heavenly things stay in Heaven and never come into that man’s field. Can you see, that for our field to produce Heaven’s purpose, there are some things we have to purposefully sow into our field?

Partner, what is God’s plan for your life? You have the authority to take hold of that plan and harvest your God-given future. Jesus went on to say that if a man will sow Heaven into his field, Heaven will grow into that field and take the field over. Kingdom dominion will take over the ground and make the field yield what is necessary for it to grow. I’m sure we’ll dive deeper into this in future monthly teachings, but to close this month, let’s look at two things. First, the parable below from Matthew 13:31-32 was spoken within the flow of two other parables. Look at it again:

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field. Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

While these two verses have within them revelation that can produce lifetime results, there is a reason it is sandwiched in the flow of this overall teaching. The parable above it is “The Wheat and Tares,” and immediately following it is “The Parable of the Leaven in the Loaf.” What is so clearly being emphasized by the wheat and tares is this: there is a dominion any man can take over his field by sowing kingdom seed into that field, and no matter what tares the enemy sows into that field, that man’s harvest will come to pass. Nothing the enemy sows into the field can stop his harvest. The emphasis concerning the leaven is that the leaven will take over the whole loaf. So we see that not only is the enemy helpless to stop your harvest, but also the heavenly kingdom seed you take and sow into your field will “take over” the whole field. If a man will operate in his dominion, satan has nothing to keep him from reaching his destiny, and the manifestation of God’s plan will take over his whole future.

The final thing I want to sow into you as our partner this month is this: you are dreaming too small. God has commanded creative miracles of restoration for you! However, these miracles are not just for you to be restored, but to position each of us for the fullness of our heavenly destiny. We are the seed of Abraham. This prophecy about the Messiah from Isaiah 49:6 KJV belongs to you and me.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

The KJV version says, “It is a light thing.” That doesn’t seem very clear. Our mind translates those words to a question, “Is it a light thing?” But clearly it is a correction from God. Other translations are very clear. God is saying it is not enough for us just to be called to restoration. God is saying that it is too small a thing just to be His servants and have some restoration. There is so much more. We MUST harvest our destiny. Look at several other translations.

Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

He has said, “It is not enough that you are merely my servant to raise up the tribes of Ya‘akov and restore the offspring of Isra’el. I will also make you a light to the nations, so my salvation can spread to the ends of the earth.”

Complete English Version (CEV)

Now the Lord says to me, “It isn’t enough for you to be merely my servant. You must do more than lead back survivors from the tribes of Israel. I have placed you here as a light for other nations; you must take my saving power to everyone on earth.”

Darby’s Translation (DARBY)

—and he saith, It is a small thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I have even given thee for a light of the nations, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Good News Translation (GNT)

The Lord said to me, “I have a greater task for you, my servant. Not only will you restore to greatness the people of Israel who have survived, but I will also make you a light to the nations—so that all the world may be saved.

Partner, thank you for your seed into reproducing revelation this month and every month. Glory to God, there is a fresh crop. Let’s embrace the “Greater Task” that God commands, and take hold of Heaven and the kingdom, sowing it into His field, the world. It is our destiny, and His plan will come true as we demonstrate His power to everyone on Earth. We Love You So much! Racing toward the Harvest!

In HIM,

Tracy & Lori Harris
