Disney World is located in Florida by Orlando. Disney is opened all year around do to its tropical weather. Disney owns 25,000 acres just in Florida.

Walt Disney World History

Walt Disney first created Disneyland theme park in California in 1955. After that Walt Disney was hesitant to make another theme park. Disney's company purchased 27,443 acres, in 1965. It's located in central Florida in both Orange and Osceola counties. Disney World was built in two phases and it was costed Disney approximately five million dollars.

On October 25,1971 Magic Kingdom was opened. Approximately 10,000 guests visited the theme park on opening day. Magic Kingdom is divided into six areas. The areas are Adventure-land, Tomorrow-land, Frontier-land, Fantasy-land, Liberty Square, and Main Street USA.


Epcot opened their doors to the public on October 1, 1982. The Word Epcot stands for Environmental Prototype City of Tomorrow. Epcot is known for its big silver ball, or otherwise known as Spaceship Earth, a 180-foot geodesic sphere. Spaceship Earth is a 15-minute ride that allows passengers to travel back in history and see different improvements in communication. Also in Disney Epcot is a place called World Showcase. It is a small town with nine different foreign counties with restaurants visitors can eat at. At closing time, Epcot guests can watch "Illuminations". Illuminations is a outdoor show, including fireworks, lasers, lights, and music.

Universal Studios


Universal Studios was opened in 1990. In 1990, the big rides were Jaws, Kongfrontation and E.T. In 2001 and 2002 they added The Amazing Adventures of Spider man, The Incredible Hulk Coaster, and Dueling Dragons. Some movies you can watch their are Terminator 2:3D, Twister:Ride it out, and Shrek 4D.

The Tree of Life

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom opened on April 22, 1998. It is the largest single theme park of Disney in the World. Animal Kingdom is well known for The Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is a 14 story tree, and it has 325 animals carved into it.

Disney World & Hotels

One fun fact is an estimated 48 million guests visit the Walt Disney Resort per year. Disney has approximately 69,000 workers. Another fun fact is that Disney owns 18 hotels. Throughout the Disney World Parks there are an estimated 23,000 hotel rooms.
