My Student Teaching Logan HAmrick

Since I began Kindergarten I knew that I would one day become a teacher. I loved the idea of organizing my own classroom, thinking of creative ways to teach different subjects, and most importantly, being in charge of my very own class. After taking Spanish in high school, I realized my fascination with the cultures of Spanish speaking countries and with the language itself. My desire to travel and to acquire Spanish as a second language pushed me to pursue Spanish as my focus in education.

Differentiation

every class is different. Every student is different. Once I started practicing differentiation to accommodate varying needs of each class and each student, I started to see how much i was helping each student.

Building Connections

Forming supportive connections was an essential part of my success this semester, specifically with my at-risk students. For some classes, the transition during the start of my teaching was more difficult for the students than I had anticipated. with the guidance of my cooperating teacher, I was able to show students that I wanted them to be successful in spanish and that I was committed to helping them in any way I could.

Reflection

I STILL LOVE ALL OF THE PARTS OF BEING A TEACHER THAT I HAVE SINCE I WAS YOUNG, BUT NOW HAVING TAUGHT ACTUAL STUDENTS, A NEW MOTIVATION HAS DEVELOPED IN ME. MY STUDENTS AT GARNER MOTIVATED ME TO DEVELOP MY PRACTICES AND CREATE NEW IDEAS BECAUSE THEY TRUSTED ME TO HELP THEM SUCCEED.

ALTHOUGH THIS SEMESTER WAS BUSY, CHALLENGING AND EXHAUSTING, MY EXPERIENCE CONFIRMED TO ME THAT I AM DEDICATED TO BECOMING THE BEST SPANISH TEACHER I CAN BE. I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE MY OWN STUDENTS IN THE FALL!
