Shepherd's 2016 Playoff Run Run To the ncaa semifinals...again!

Shepherd opened the 2016 NCAA Playoffs as the No. 3 seed in Super Region 1, and took on Assumption at home.

The Rams got off to a quick start, led by C.J. Davis' 89-yard kickoff return.

Rams Handle Greyhounds, 48-31

The next round had Shepherd go on the road to undefeated LIU Post out of the Northeast 10.

This time, it was a big second quarter that swung the momentum in favor of Shepherd as the Rams grabbed a 26-7 lead at halftime.

Rams Down LIU Post, 40-21

The next challenge for Shepherd was once again on the road at undefeated California (Pa.) out of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

The Vulcans raced ahead and built a 17-0 lead early in the first quarter, forcing Shepherd to have to rally. Brandon Hlavach got things started with a long touchdown run.
A huge strip/sack fumble recovery for a touchdown took the momentum away from the Vulcans and helped spark the Rams rally.
Billy Brown had 9 catches, 172 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Vulcans.
Connor Jessop plunged in from 1-yard out to clinch the win in the waning moments

Rams Rally Past Cal, 41-30

With the win, the Mountain East Conference has produced the Super Region 1 champion in each of the last three years.

Shepherd will look for a berth into the NCAA Championships this Saturday as it plays host to North Alabama. Kickoff from Rams Stadium is noon. See you there! #GoRams
