Girls basketball defeats Reeths-Puffer in district game by grace montgomery

WHAT HAPPENED:

The girls basketball team beat Reeths-Puffer 36-29 on Monday, March 22. They came out strong and led the first quarter with a score of 12-3. The Bucs were able to maintain their lead to secure the win.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:

The Bucs will advance to the district semi finals. The win also improves their record to 4-11 overall.

KEY PLAYERS:

  • Senior Avery Keefe led the team defensively with 15 rebounds.
  • Junior Zoe Spoelman was a huge offensive presence with 16 points. She also had nine blocks.

THEY SAID IT:

"I think we came out hungry for a win," Keefe said. "We didn't let down and we were playing to win. We are going to use it as momentum and confidence going into Wednesday's game."

"I think we came out hard," Spoelman said. "We played some good defense and got up 12-0. There were some tough times, but we kept it good."

WHAT'S NEXT:

The Bucs take on Mona Shores at home on Wednesday, March 24 in the district semi finals.
