TEAM OARsome ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH UPDATES: 23 ARPIL 2017

What an awesome day for the team to come together for a photoshoot session for our AGM report. The first for some as the Alumni Engagement and Outreach staff are pretty new and growing. Team T-Cube we call ourselves comprises of Vincent Tan (4 months plus), Jason Tan (1 month plus) and Andrew Tam (2 weeks).

Jason and Andrew are still going through what freshmen would call it, Orientation or ‘Onboarding’ in HR-speak. Andrew still need to attend the PDPA and Flex-Bend session to get himself familiar with the SMU system.

Team T-Cube (for now till the new staff arrives

As a young team, they endeavour to bring new energy, fresh perspectives and an innovative spirit to create a synergizing eco-system around the frameworks of ‘Engagement’ and ‘Outreach’. Several offices in SMU, members of the alumni community and the Singapore Management University Alumni Association (SMUAA) are beginning to experience the difference. See if you could identify which Emergenetics profile matches with which team member?

Here is a glimpse of the Alumni Engagement and Outreach directions.

WHAT IS IN THE PIPELINE?

Setting up an interactive Night with icon who has 14,000 members.

We are currently in talks with the Office of Dean of Students to organize an Interaction Night for ICON who currently has 14,000 members, 12 interest clubs under their wing. This is going to be big and likely to open doors for more Alumni Groups and Overseas Chapters to be formed. Because of the current size, both Vincent and Jason are working together to get the best results that would engage more Alumni. Present at the kickoff meeting were: (from left: Toshin Canute SEQUEIRA - President 13th SMU International Connections Executive Committee, Vendela Francine Amado SIASAT - Vice President (Year 4), Charishma Beselda VARGHESE - Honorary General Secretary (Year 4), LIM Wensi from Office of Student of Student, Diversity, Inclusion & Integration, Vincent Tan, OAR)
