Alumnae Career Morning
On Friday, September 20, we kicked off Reunion weekend by welcoming back two Sacred Heart Greenwich alumnae to King Street for the Upper School Alumnae Career Morning. Dr. Joanna Groden '74, Human Geneticist and Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Illinois, and Stephanie Mellert '14, analyst at Rothschild and Co, shared with students how their time spent at Sacred Heart Greenwich has helped shape their career paths. We were especially inspired to hear that the confidence and leadership skills developed during their years at Sacred Heart have helped to propel them in their careers and given them powerful voices in male-dominated industries.
Dr. Groden also took time to speak to the AP Biology and AP Environmental classes empowering these seniors to “change the world, be successful, do what you want." Thank you to both of our alums for such a motivating morning!
Bishop Caggiano installs 23 seniors as Eucharistic Ministers
At the recent Mass of the Holy Spirit, the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of the Bridgeport diocese, commissioned 22 seniors as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. In this new role, the students will serve as Eucharistic Ministers at liturgies through the school year.
During the homily, the Bishop reminded students how unique a Sacred Heart education is: It provides them with unmatched academic rigor, extraordinary extracurricular opportunities and most of all, the reminder every day that God loves them.
