Gustove Droz

Gustave Droz was born June 9, 1832, in Paris, France. He was born to a well know sculptor. Droz was educated as an artist and found success with his art in his earlier life. He had a preference for writing. This lead to him meeting an instructor named Marcellin, the founder of La Vie Parisienne who lead him to writing. Droz published many works witch gained him popularity first in France and later in all of Europe. Gustave Droz died October 22, 1895 in Paris, France.
Gustave Droz's book Papa, Mama, and Baby, went through 121 editions between 1866 and 1884. It was an incredibly successful. Droz called for fathers to be more affectionate to their child. Droz ideas were part of an increase in maternal feeling and specific books on child rearing. His ideas on child rearing are ideas that we still see today. Droz was a major contributor to families developing strong emotional ties to each other. This is the idea that is the normal today. Without people like Droz the child and family dynamic would be totally different.
