New- Children’s Ministries' Hope is Here Campaign Announcement: On November 14, children are invited to bring their GIVE pouches back to church and empty the contents into the generosity jars in each Sunday School classroom. These donations will purchase a beautiful stained-glass window in the new building, and a plaque will be placed to acknowledge this generous gift from our children.

The God Who Sees Series, November 8, 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Jubilee Hall: Join us as we gather in person for education, inspiration, and discussion of a topic central to our church's mission work: Food Insecurity. There will be theological reflection (why does this matter to our faith), and local expert Tina Postel, Executive Director of Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays, will provide context for this issue within Charlotte. The Mystery of God’s Presence With Us: Grief Support Workshop Part II, November 8, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., room 103 and via Zoom: Led by Rev. Bill Roth and Parish Nurse Lauren Smith, this workshop is designed to assist and support those grieving a loss. This will be a time of sharing individual journeys and coming to a deeper understanding of the grief process. A virtual option is also available. New - Youth Middle School Mayhem: November 12: Middle schoolers, join us for the Hornets game as they take on the Knicks! Bring money for concessions. After the game we each get to take a free throw shot on the court! Youth should be dropped off at 5:45 p.m. and picked up at 10:00 p.m. at the Spectrum Arena 5th Street entrance. Tickets are $30. Table Tithe Collection, now-November 19: As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we are collecting gift cards to provide food for 100 families from our school partnerships. Families expressed their appreciation to be able to choose between prepared meals or groceries/ingredients, so we are asking for donations of $50 Harris Teeter gift cards. Advent Wreath Kits Available for Purchase, now-November 21: A limited number of make-at-home Advent wreath kits will be available for purchase. Kits are $15, and a portion of the proceeds of the Advent Wreath Kit sales will support Missions’ Merry Market program. Please note that greenery is not provided, but all other supplies (candles, candle cups, greenery pins, foam, tray, etc.) are provided. Kits will be available for pickup in the Parish Life Building lobby beginning Sunday, November 14. Click here to order your kit.

Pre-Order Your Christmas Tree, Wreath or Garland, while supplies last: Orders will be ready for pickup December 2-3. Due to a growing shortage, we have fewer trees this year. We offer gift cards! Goodness Gracious is open Sunday-Thursday 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Yoga + Prayer: In Person and on Zoom: Meredith Starling leads in-person gentle yoga sessions on Mondays at 12:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. and deep stretch sessions on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. in room 109. Loaves & Fishes Warehouse Volunteers, second Monday of the month, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.: Missions is offering an ongoing volunteer opportunity through our local community partner Loaves & Fishes. Volunteers will package kits filled with donated canned goods. Music Ministry Christmas Concert, December 5, 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Tryon Street: Save the date to join us in person for this wonderful Christmas tradition. The concert will feature singers from our Music Ministry, handbells, and orchestra.

Service of Hope and Consolation, December 6, 6:30 p.m., Sanctuary: This service is for all who seek solace and hope from our many losses this past year.
