CONTRIBUTION

Why do we contribute?

“Doxa Deo goes beyond having church on a Sunday to serving our cities in such a way, that we are seeing the establishing of the Lordship of Christ in every area of society. In Doxa Deo people are not only concerned for the state of their cities; they take responsibility for their cities. In short, WE ARE SERVING OUR CITIES INTO THE KINGDOM!” – Doxa Deo

As part of the Doxa Deo family, we are also incorporated into the mandate of being City Changers. What is a City Changer? Consider the following piece of scripture before we discuss the term in more detail:

Matthew 25

34-36 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why: I was hungry, and you fed me,I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink,I was homeless, and you gave me a room,I was shivering, and you gave me clothes,I was sick, and you stopped to visit,I was in prison and you came to me.’

37-40 “Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’

God has called us to live a life of significance. One that has impact into eternity. We are designed to be the embodiment of the love that god has for humanity. To show compassion toward the lost, the broken and the unsaved.

Being a City Changer, means to take action so that the Kingdom of God will be manifest through us in our everyday life. It is to stand up against injustice, to engage with the lost, to reach out to the unsaved and to take care of the broken.

As a group of Metamorpho students, we are going to make an impact in our community through a project of our own design. We are going to use the skills, resources and networks that we currently have, to bring forth change in the lives of the lost, the broken and the unsaved.
