Who We Are

We are Matt and Sophia Glover. We are full-time staff with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Boston. So what does that mean? YWAM’s slogan is “To know God and to make Him known”. Here in Boston our heart is to tell the story of Jesus to anyone. And our favorite way to do that is through the arts! Our staff are a very talented bunch of people. We have musicians, photographers, dancers, painters, actors, and many other creative types. We believe God has called us to redeem the arts for Him. Our passions are evangelism, discipleship, prayer and worship.

Joshua Generation

Every summer we run ‘Joshua Generation’. It is a 2 week program for teenagers. We provide an atmosphere for young people to grow their character in Christ and find their story and identity in God. We give them an unforgettable outreach experience and make friendships that last. They are an excited group of youth who are passionate about reaching their generation with the Gospel.

Mission Adventures

Throughout the year there are teams such as ‘Mission Adventures’ that come visit us to learn how to share their faith and what it is like to be a missionary. We bring in teams to train them so they can return to their towns and cities equipped with the skills for ministry. Below is a video from one of the teams that came to us.

Discipleship Training School

During another 6 months of the year we hold a ‘Discipleship Training School’. It is for college-aged youth. This world wide program seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. This school consists of a 4 month lecture phase and a 2 month outreach phase. In our schools we encourage the creative and talented ones to join us and explore how God can use all of us.

Staffing this school is one of the more intensive and engaging times of the year for us. Everyday during lecture phase is full of classes from our week's speaker, arts classes, work duties, prayer and worship, and outreach training times. Outreach is an all day activity wherever in the world we go. Recently our team went to El Salvador for outreach! Below is the video from our trip!

The story of God as you've never seen or heard, through a multi-faceted artistic production involving, theater, music, dance, and visual art. Encounter communicates Jesus in a fresh and compelling way. It tells God's story from Eden to the Resurrection, and ends with an intimate time of worship. It is a new altar call, a new door into God's presence, a chance for people who don't know Jesus yet to experience the reality of "God with us"! Encounter is a part of our DTS outreach. For one month we go on the road visiting usually a dozen different states with the show. We've seen so many lives changed through telling the gospel in this unique way.

When we were given the Ministry Center we knew there needed to be place that was dedicated to prayer. In the following years, through our most difficult time, the prayer room held us together as a staff and family. Today, we dedicate time to pause and pray and worship together as a ministry. Our heart as a prayer house is to seek the face of God and pray together to see growth and change in ourselves and this city.

Matt Glover

My primary role here is the Bon Fire Prayer House Director. I love to teach and show others how exciting and effective prayer is! I am also one of the worship leaders here and have a passion for hip-hop and spoken word. I love when I have the opportunity to speak on Prayer, Revival History, and Spiritual Warfare. Soph and I are always ready when it's time to lead or participate in outreach!

Sophia Glover

My primary role is the ministry's Graphic Designer. I design the promotional material and any shirts we need for outreaches. I choreograph and teach hip-hop dance to be used for outreach. I have a passion for art and photography and am a part of teaching our arts classes for the DTS.

We each are involved in teaching and training teams on how to practically share their faith. And it's always best when we take them out and show them how it's done first-hand! For JG, we lead one of the four teams of about 25 students on outreach each summer together. We are both heavily involved in the Discipleship Training School every year. We help lead the school, where we get to walk along-side our students in their journey getting closer to God. We do a lot behind the scenes to create the atmosphere and opportunities to Encounter God in the classroom and community, whether it's handling applications, booking speakers, or organizing schedules. When a team comes that wants to learn a drama for outreach, Matt and I are a few of the ones that teach our skit. There is an immense amount of preparation that goes into these different programs we offer that we have to do throughout the year. We are so thankful that we get to work together at YWAM and follow what the Lord has for us and not only to make His dream come true, but also ours. It gives each of us so much life to be able to share with another person about Jesus.

Evangelizing at Boston University and Harvard.

What the Need is

We need to raise our monthly financial backing and partnership. In order for the things we've listed to take place, we need the help of our friends, family, and churches for their financial investment. We need to raise enough funds for travel costs when we go out of state or out of the country for missions trips with our schools and also for basic living expenses.

Baby Simon is coming April 2018!

From the beginning, Youth With A Mission was called as a faith mission. Depending on the Lord, and joining with partners, we step out to make a difference in a very needy world. Everything we do at YWAM Boston is possible because of your financial support. We really appreciate your generous support of our missionaries and outreach ministries.

Lives are being changed as we partner together to make Him known. We need a group of friends and family and others who will stand with us and provide the love, prayers, and encouragement, and money to enable us to live this life of a Sent One. These partnerships are God’s design to engage His church with His heart for the people He misses most. What an honor it is to be a part of that process of connecting believers to God’s passion for the people of the world.

In closing, we would like to say thank you for reading this and for considering our needs for prayer and financial support. Please contact us if you have any questions. We are excited about what God is doing and hope you can share in our excitement!

Thank you!
