  • Possibility of a well-known dancer to marry a upper class person
  • Greeks believed that it was invented by the gods; the good dancers were chosen by the gods as well
  • Dancing includes singing, the leader sings a statement; later on got the idea of chorus
Evolution

The tradition of Greek Dance has not changed. There are many types of Greek dances, some in a circle, dancing with their families, the geronos, epilinios, iporchima, and much more.

Purpose

  • The purpose of this dance was a celebration of the people. Usually performed at festivals.
