Remember

Dawn Jensen

As I walk through life,

I look at all I have done.

I had wandered aimlessly,

And wondered what I have become.

I have been through so much.

It is amazing I made it through.

Lessons I have learned.

I am shocked I pulled through.

At times I wondered

What life was all about.

The trials experienced in life

Can make all the good come out.

We try to make it day by day,

Remembering what we were taught.

Just remember some time to pray.

It is important;

We need it every day.

Life can be short,

Unexpected at that.

We try to take its punches,*

Just hoping it won't break our back.

Remember who you are,

Who you want to become.

Everything will fall into place,

When the time comes.

Don't forget I love you's

Every chance you get.

The time may be short.

There is no time to regret.

Life can be exciting,

As we all have found out,

Eventful, even busy.

There is no time to be left out.

Remember who you are

And who you want to become.

The time can be short.

Don't leave things undone.

Remember your families,

They are the only ones you've got

To carry you in times of need.

They cannot be bought.

Remember they love you,

Either here or there.

They will always be with us,

Help for things to bear.

* The author Dawn Jensen uses personification to describe how life can be difficult. We go through the hard times in life and hoping it won't kill us one day. So instead we take it as a life lesson and move on with life.

After what all you have been through your family will always be there for you.

You should be here

Cole Swindell

It's perfect outside

It's like God let me dial up the weather

Got the whole crew here

I ain't seen some of them in forever

It's one of those never forget it,

better stop and take it in kinda scenes.

Everything's just right yeah except for one thing

You should be here,

standing with your arm around me here

Cutting up, cracking a cold beer, saying cheers

hey y'all it's sure been a good year

It's one of those moments,

that's got your name written all over it

And you know that if I had just one wish

it'd be that you didn't have to miss this

You should be here

You'd be taking way too many pictures on your phone

Showing them off to everybody that you know back home

And even some you don't yeah

They say now you're in a better place

And I would be too if I could see your face

You should be here,

standing with your arm around me here

Cutting up, cracking a cold beer, saying cheers,

hey y'all it's sure been a good year

It's one of those moments,

that's got your name written all over it

And you know that if I had just one wish it'd be that you didn't have to miss this.

Aw you should be here

You'd be loving this, you'd be freaking out, you'd be smiling, yeah

I know you'd be all about what's going on right here right now.

God I wish somehow you could be here

Yeah this is one of those moments that's got your name written all over it*

Oh you should be here

And you know that if I have just one wish it'd be that you didn't have to miss this

Aw you should be here

You should be here

Songwriter: Ashley Gorley

* The songwriter Ashley Gorley is trying to describe what it is like to have a loved one die by using personification. You have these moments together then you do it again and it doesn't feel right. It feels like they should be there its their moment.

"They are in a better place now."

What Hurts the Most

Rascal Flatts

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house*

That don't bother me

I can take a few tears now and then and just let 'em out

I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while

Even though goin' on with you gone still upsets me

There are days every now and again I pretend I'm okay

But that's not what gets me

What hurts the most was being so close

And havin' so much to say

And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin' what could've been

And not seein' that lovin' you

Is what I was trying to do

It's hard to deal with the pain of losin' you everywhere I go

But I'm doing it

It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone

Still harder gettin' up, gettin' dressed, livin' with this regret

But I know if I could do it over

I would trade, give away all the words that I saved in my heart

That I left unspoken

What hurts the most was being so close

And havin' so much to say

And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin' what could've been

And not seein' that lovin' you

Is what I was trying to do

What hurts the most was being so close

And havin' so much to say

And watchin' you walk away

And never knowin' what could've been

And not seein' that lovin' you

Is what I was trying to do

That's what I was trying to do

Songwriters: Jeffrey Steele & Steve Robson

* The songwriters are using imagery to describe what it is like to lose the person you love. The person would do anything so the person that they love won't leave. They would take the rain off the roof of an empty house or them if they could.

" In Loving Memory "

Stormy

By: Shelby Murray

A scratching at the door

A shadow across the floor

I toss and turn

Yet still I yearn

For the sweet abyiss

That I really do miss

I want to float away

But she insists she stay

Not sure where anyone's at -

Only Stormy my cat

" It's gonna be a stormy day. "
