Carolyn '19

"If you want to learn something about yourself that you didn't know before, and you want to find people who will support you along the way, then Academy is the place to be."

At Albuquerque Academy, we have students who are award-winning artists, National Latin Scholars, and Speech and Debate tournament winners. In some cases, such as with Carolyn Wang ’19, all of these accolades can be attributed to just one student.

Carolyn, who joined the Albuquerque Academy community as a junior when her family relocated from New York, has certainly been busy.

“I never would have imagined doing any of the things I’m doing now,” reflects Carolyn. “The Academy has so many resources; it’s really lucky for me.”

An Excerpt from One of Carolyn's Speeches

I’ll start. I’m Carolyn Wang. My parents and sister were born in China, and I was born in Loma Linda, California. I’m currently a proud resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’m descended from kings, and so are over 138,303,000 other people of Chinese descent. But, most importantly, I’m American. I believe that I can change the world with my voice, and I hope you will join me. So, hi. Hello. Hey. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?
