Trip Advisor Reviews

The hotel itself is kinda weird cause of the shape of it. It's not as fancy as other hotels on the strip. Pretty drab decor of Egyptian stuff. Kinda manly. We got a really good deal on our flight+ hotel package so we didn't complain much.We really liked our room tho. It was spacious with lots of storage and a big bathroom with a nice size glass walk in shower. Beds and pillows very comfy. We liked the buffet for both breakfast and dinner but was $77 for 2. We liked that we could buy beer to take to the room at the little convenient stores in the hotel. A 12 pack bud light is $19. We did not win anything at all in the casino. In fact lost more than $500 What a bummer. My husband had a sprained ankle and was having trouble walking. We found out we could rent a motorized scooter from the bell desk for $100 for 3 days. That helped him tremendously because there's a lot of walking to be done there. We drove that thing everywhere and even kept it in the room with us. That was a nice thing to have available to guests. Overall good experience with hotel nothing was really bad. Just wish we could have won some $. Better luck next time. If you are lucky enough to get a cheap flight + hotel package, they will get you on high food, drinks and gambling. Just saying nothing's cheap here. Michael Jacksons Circe de Solei show tickets are $100 a piece and 2 bottled waters there were $16! WOW Geez. Vegas got us broke.

Room Tip: We liked 2 queen beds for lots of room

Green Features: The soap was really small and there's no plug ins to charge your phone near the nightstand

“Fun Vegas trip”

The hotel was very convenient to the other hotels and the bus. We were able to catch the bus or ride the tram to the other hotels. The room was very clean and updated. The bed was comfy. We were staying in the pyramid section and it was very nice. We ate at the buffet which was a good value for the money and the food was good. We also ate at the cafe for a good morning breakfast. Overall we loved the Luxor.

“Solid value option on the strip”

I stayed here for five nights. Check-in was friendly and quick. I asked for a room with any type of view and was told that was not possible, however we were given an "upgraded" King room on the third floor in the East tower. The room itself was nothing special. Strangely there's no fridge or coffee pot or kettle to boil tea. This is very disappointing and pretty bizarre considering this isn't an ultra low-budget hotel. I can't recall staying in a hotel that didn't offer those items anywhere in the world at any budget. The furniture was dated and showing signs of wear, however it was functional and the bed was very comfortable with great pillows. Unfortunately the room wasn't very quiet as music could be heard blasting all throughout the night, a higher floor would probably resolves this. Also sleeping in was difficult due to the on-going construction. Music all night + power tools all morning does not equal a good sleep. I'm not the type to complain so I sucked it up and truthfully I drank too much to notice, but light sleepers would definitely be annoyed. The hotel casino has everything you'd want, however I suggest going for a walk and exploring the surrounding casinos. Across the street at the Tropicana is a much nicer casino. Also the lack of Egyptian theming on the casino floor is odd. They have gone to great lengths to make the casino as generic and bland as possible which is disappointing considering you're in a giant Pyramid. There's nothing tacky at all about the hotel's theming so the bland casino floor isn't going to convince anyone popping into the resort to see a show to stay and play. I didn't eat at the resort so I can't comment on the food. You're better off bringing in snacks and drinks from outside, the prices inside are insane. $5 for a small bottle of drinking water? That's just a blatent rip-off. You can drink for free on the floor if you're playing but the service is spotty at best. Go play at Planet Hollywood if you want attractive and attentive servers who will keep your drinks coming all night long. The MGM casinos at the south end are very frustrating experiences in this regard. As for location, this is the south end of the strip, prepare for a good walk to get out to where the "action" is. Not a big deal for me, I actually managed to walk all the way downtown one day, but if mobility is an issue and you want to get out and explore I'd considering something a little more near the action. On the plus side you won't get tangled in traffic on your way in and will have a reasonably quick and cheap taxi ride to and from the airport. Overall it was an alright stay, the price was good for what we got but I'd certainly look for a hotel that gets the basics right next time and take a pass on the Luxor (or any MGM property).

Room Tip: Stay higher up if in the east tower due to the music and construction noise.

The room was comfortable, but it is an older hotel. The costs of the food and drinks were outrageous!!!!! Almost impossible to get a cocktail waitress when we were gambling, didn't matter if spending money at the $ machines or the penny machines. If one did grace you with her presence they were RUDE!!!!! Will not be returning

“Great stay”

Room was great, clean. Bed was comfortable. Spa suite was awesome. The ceiling did have discoloration where they had a leak and I was super bummed the pool was being renovated and couldn't be used. All in all it was a nice stay. Mobile check in was awesome too since the check in line was crazy long from the fight being in town.
