Norway and the Arctic Cruising on the ms trollfjord

We took the MS Trollfjord, the "mail boat," up the Norway coast from Bergen to Kirkenes and back.. Well almost back. Between Risyhamn and Sortland the ship hit the pier and our cruise was cut short. That unfortunate incident did not ruin what was a marvelous trip. From viewing the magnificent landscapes of the Arctic, to seeing the Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis, during a force nine gale, to partaking in a Viking dinner complete with a king and queen, we had a wonderful time. Norway is so beautiful I want to go back and see it during the summer.

The Bergen port in the photo on the left. A shop in the back area of the historic section. This is the Norwegian equivalent of kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland or the Bronze Pig in Florence.

From on top of the mouton of Fluibanen overlooking the City of Bergen. We took the Fløibanen which is a funicular railway to the top.

Bergen is surrounded by seven mountains
Can you imagine, it snowed in Norway while we were there.
