What Is Human Trafficking And how can we prevent it? human Trafficking is a big problem in the United states and is Some-what common. DoSomething.org goes on to say that 600,000-800,00 people are victims of human trafficking around the world each year. This could happen to anyone including you. How can we prevent this from happening?
"Human trafficking is the action or practice of illegally transporting people from one country or area to another, typically for the purpose of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation." According to DoSomething.org, "80% are female and half are children." "Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking), is what it also says.
There are many possible reasons someone would traffick other people around the world, here are five common reasons why, according to nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk
  1. Sexual Exploitation
  2. Forced Labor
  3. Domestic Servitude
  4. Organ Harvesting
  5. Child Exploitation
Many may ask what the government is doing to prevent this,but most importantly, what is your state doing? Well, according to Phoenix.gov, "the task force was created in December 2013 by the city of phoenix as a model in addressing and combating human TRAFFICKING." LATER, "ON APRIL 22, 2014 Governor brewer signed house of bill 2454 into law. this bill strengthened state law by increasing penalties for human trafficking while improvising and enhancing protection for the victimized and vulnerable," says endsextrafficking.az.gov.
in conclusion, there are many reasons and ways to human traffick and the government,and arizona state are trying to prevent and reduce the chance of it happening to anyone.
