As Autumn Ages

As Autumn ages it finds itself waking up each morning in a bit of a fog, with stiff joints that take until midday to limber up when the brilliant sunshine burns away the fog.

It's the magic carpet season

When the piles of leaves crunch, and rustle underfoot.

Each day there's less of the beautiful leaves in Autumn's golden crown, the sparseness of the forest's showing a receding hairline that's a sure sign of middle age.

Grey streaks appear in the frost covered branches of the surrounding trees, and an ominous creaking occurs when the breeze comes through.....

No doubt, Autumn is ageing...but ever so gracefully. It's a lesson we can learn from, don't fear the progression, make the most of your days, and take time to stop and watch the leaves flutter to the ground.
