UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: ROUND OF 16 A look into how teams fared as they enter the knockout stage of the tournament

The last 16 in this season's Champions league have been quite predictable, with Leicester City being a surprise entrant to the knockouts. Tottenham are the only English team missing. All four teams from Spain and three teams from Germany has also made the cut.

Group A: Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain made it to the knockouts. Both the contests between the two teams were an interesting affair, and in the knockouts, it will be interesting to see if they get a "tough" draw.

In the same group, FC Basel suffered an early exit after the Gunners thrashed them 4-1 in their last game.Bulgarian club Ludogorets Razgrad made it to the Europa League after a draw with PSG which helped them finish third.

Group B: Napoli, along with fellow Italians from Group H Juventus, qualified for the knockouts, yet again. The other team to have qualified from this group was the Portugese side Benfica.

Group C: Both Barcelona and Manchester City qualified as group winners and runners up from the Group of Death. It will be very interesting to see whom they will be drawn with.

Group D: Atletico Madrid finished second in their group behind Germans Bayern Munich as they successfully joined their two fellow German clubs in the knockout stage. Right at the start of the tournament, the runners up were expected to join their fellow clubs in the next stage.

Group E: Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the round of 16 as runners up, behind Monaco, who topped the group. Tottenham missed a good oppurtunity to qualify for the knockouts. Had they advanced, all four teams from England would have done so.

Borussia Dortmund played out a thrilling draw on their last group game away at the Santiago Bernebau, with the final scoreline reading 2-2. This ensured them top spot in the group, two points ahead of second placed Real Madrid.

Leicester City are the new faces from England in the knockout stage of the tournament. Despite losing their final group game to Porto 5-0, they were ensured top spot in the table. Porto, too, qualified for the next stage.

No surprises in this group. Both teams were expected to advance to the next stage at the start. However, Lyon would have hoped to do better in the tournament, despite settling for a Europa League spot.

Finally, here is the entire list of the teams who have advanced to the Round of 16. Lot more action and competition awaits us in the knockout stages, which begins early next year.
